Our school is growing! Exeter Day School is looking to add a warm, engaging, and motivated educator to our community of devoted teachers. We are looking for a flexible individual with a desire to provide support to our Lead and Associate Teachers. Our ideal candidate can seamlessly float from one classroom to the next and feel comfortable jumping into a supporting role.   Exeter Day School is a non-profit preschool that has served the community since 1939. We offer part-time and full-time class options to suit the needs of our families.   We are located on a quiet street, adjacent to the Phillips Exeter Academy fields. Furthermore, we have access to the PEA nature trails, two playgrounds and spacious open fields for our students to explore.   We follow SAU 16 Calendar - paid school vacation weeks, holidays, snow closures and sick days.  In-house professional development offered.  Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required). Must have 9 credits in the field of Early Childhood Education or another child-related field. Completed Criminal Background prior to being hired. Must meet associate teacher requirements based on NH Licensing Rules. Special Education Background (Preferred). One year’s experience in a licensed center-based program is preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. CURRICULUM/TEACHING EXPECTATIONS

·         Assist in planning, preparing, and executing lessons that promote children’s physical, social, and emotional development, creative expression, communication, and literacy in line with assessments

·         Assist in creating and maintaining an attractive, fun, clean, interactive, and orderly classroom that encourages children to create, play, learn and explore

·         Interact with the children and encourage their involvement in activities

·         Ensure constant focus on students during all indoor and outdoor activities

COMMUNICATION

·         Follow the Behavior Policy which includes identifying students in need of extra support, appropriately documenting behaviors, regularly communicating progress with families, and meeting due dates as directed by lead teacher

CLASSROOM MAINTENANCE

·         Assist in organizing and cleaning-up classrooms, playroom space, and the playground each day

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Work/collaborate with others in a cohesive positive environment

·         Contribute to the effective overall operation of EDS

·         Meet or exceed NH state licensing requirements, including but not limited to maintaining an up-to-date personnel file and current professional development hours
