Website First Start Children's Center A Program of Second Start

  • Plan and execute food preparation in accordance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Keep accurate menu production records.  Prepare monthly meal counts and food claim for submission to the State for reimbursement through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Complete food purchasing to maintain sufficient stock.
  • Maintain clean and orderly storage of food and supplies by observing high standards of health, sanitation and safety in all areas related to food preparation and service.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Be detailed oriented and organized
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must clear full background check and pass health screening
  • Prior food service experience preferably with the Child and Adult Food Care Program
  • ServeSafe Certification
  • Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Completion of NH's Health and Safety Training Program
  • Prior experience with spreadsheets and word documents

The cook will plan and prepare meals in accordance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.  This will include menu planning, food purchasing, monthly paperwork, and maintaining health, sanitation, and safety in all food preparation and storage areas.  This is a full time, year round position with generous benefits.  First Start takes great pride in our staff.
