  • Stores food at proper temperature levels according to USDA guidelines and fills in temperature charts daily.
  • Protects food by storing food in labeled/dated air tight containers.
  • Examines food deliveries immediately for damage or spoilage.
  • Freezes foods labeled/dated with freezer wrap.
  • Keeps kitchen equipment, appliances, utensils and dishes clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Cleans, sanitizes and shines; freezers, refrigerators, stove tops, sinks, counter tops and cabinets before leaving daily.
  • Follows daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
  • Keeps toxic materials properly labeled and stored separately from food products.
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness and appearance of the kitchen and food service storage areas.
  • Personal Hygiene maintained.
  • Prepares breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
  • Prepares meals for children with SMP's and special dietary needs.
  • Familiar with USDA/CACFP manuals.
  • Participates in agency sponsored functions in which attendance is required and attends USDA/CACFP Training as necessary.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Excellent communication skills, be flexible, energetic and be a team player.

Great Bay Kids’ Company provides breakfast, lunch and snack to our preschoolers and school age children. The cook’s assistant will assist the head cook to provide nutritious meals that meet the USDA meal pattern an quantity guidelines for each center-based and school-age program. In addition, the cook follows all NH Health and Sanitation codes.
