We serve young children ages 6 weeks- 5 years, year-round, in a high quality early care and education program. Seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher who will interact in a positive way with children, parents/guardians and staff. Ability to provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and loving environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence is encouraged, and individuality is respected. Commitment to maintaining professionalism in daily interactions with children, parents and staff; commitment to working cooperatively with co-workers and administration; respect for diversity and inclusion.An Assistant Childcare Teacher MUST have the following experience and attributes:
  • High School Diploma or HiSET/GED Certificate
  • Ability to comply with and meet NH Childcare Licensing requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to react quickly and keep up with moving children
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust

Specific Responsibilities of an Assistant Childcare Teacher:

  • Interact, initiate and encourage the children in daily activities
  • Assist the children in controlling their behavior by consistently using positive, developmentally appropriate approaches
  • Assist children in becoming independent
  • Provide nurturing
  • Promote the development of social skills; interact with children during mealtimes to promote social skills.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents on a daily basis
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning, preparing and implementing activities
  • Offer the Lead Teacher suggestions and information regarding children
  • Assist in developing a cooperative and supportive room environment
  • Follow established personnel guidelines
  • Attend required staff meetings
  • Participate in staff development activities
