Specific Responsibilities of a Lead Teacher:
· Develop weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline; prepare necessary materials
· Interact with the children and encourage their involvement in activities
· Responsible to the Child Care Director; regarding staff or children and parents
· Provide assistants with supervision, direction, modeling, and the opportunity to plan and implement activities
· Use appropriate and positive behavior management techniques and implement established behavior management plans
· Maintain required credentials, licensing and NAEYC standards
· Participate in staff development activities; maintain required hours of training for certification
· Attend required staff meetings.Qualifications:
A Child Care Lead Teacher MUST have the following experience and attributes:
High School Diploma or HiSET/GED Certificate
18 ECE Credits or Degree from an accredited College or University with concentration in Early Childhood or related field
Ability to comply with and meet NH Childcare Licensing requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to react quickly and keep up with moving children
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust
