  • Interact and supervise the children during active playtime on the floor and playground.
  • Use positive guidance strategies.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and security of children.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as sweeping the floor after meals, washing toys, running laundry, etc.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
Preferred:
  • Previous center experience
  • Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Credits in Early Childhood Education
  • Completion of NH's Health and Safety Training Program

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for working collaboratively with the classroom teachers to ensure a fun, safe and healthy environment for children to learn and grow.  First Start Children’s Center has a variety of part time and full time positions available working with children from infants to 10 years old.  We are seeking Assistant Teachers to actively engage with our children, assist with classroom cleaning and support our Lead and Associate Teachers.
