Both Lead Teacher and Associate Teacher Responsibilities include:

    • Must be CPR and First Aid certified
    • Acquire 18 hours of staff development annually at one’s own initiative or upon the recommendation of the Program Director

    • Sets goals and objectives to foster growth
    • Gives feedback of others in a positive manner
    • Respects the confidentiality of children, families and staff and supports a gossip free environment
In addition, Associate Teacher position responsibilities include:
  • Assists the Lead Teacher with the overall classroom environment and teaching
  • Assists with coverage solutions
  • Acts as a positive role model
  • Adheres to NAEYC Code of Ethics
  • Collaborates with the Lead Teacher in creating/upkeep of NAEYC classroom portfolio
And Lead Teacher position responsibilities include:
  • Helps train and orient new staff in their age group
  • Participates in active problem solving seeking positive solutions
  • Assists with coverage solutions
  • Takes leadership role in center events and committees
  • Acts as a positive role model and resource for other teachers
  • Encourages other staff with positive feedback and suggestions
  • Facilitates and collaborates on projects
  • Adheres to NAEYC Code of Ethics
  • Takes the lead in creating/upkeep of NAEYC classroom portfolio
Lead Teacher QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Three years experience working with children between the ages of 8 weeks and 8 years in a center setting.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • CDA or equivalent, 12 college credits in ECE accepted if enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors program in Early Childhood Education
  • Documented course work or training in the following areas preferred:
    • Working with children who have special needs
    • Working with Diverse Families
    • DAP / Curriculum
    • Assessment
    • Communication and Collaboration
  Associate Teacher QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-2 years experience working with children between the ages of 8 weeks and 8 years in a center setting.
  • CDA or equivalent, 12 college credits in ECE and preferably enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors program in Early Childhood Education
  • Documented course work or training in the following areas preferred:
    • Working with children who have special needs
    • Working with Diverse Families
    • DAP / Curriculum
    • Assessment
 

POSITION:  ECE Teacher

  • Lead Teacher, NAEYC qualified Teacher OR
  • Associate Teacher, NAEYC qualified Teacher Assistant

STATUS: Hourly, eligible for pre-approved overtime pay

SCHEDULE:  Varies – Flexible to meet the agency’s needs at the request of an agency administrator between 7:30 a.m – 5:30 p.m
