NH Child Care Desert Map

What is a Child Care Desert?

The U.S. Department of Agriculture defines food deserts as “parts of the country vapid of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods”. Child Care Aware of America, our national partner, borrows from this essential work and refers to areas or communities with limited or no access to quality child care as child care deserts.

For more information on child care deserts, visit our national partner Child Care Aware of America’s site to view their final paper on Child Care Deserts: Developing Solutions to Child Care Supply and Demand. For the Executive Summary report, please click here.
