Key Responsibilities include (and may be subject to change or modifications):
- Classroom Assistance:
- Support the lead teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Assist with the setup and organization of the classroom to create an engaging learning environment.
- Supervise children during various activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Child Interaction:
- Foster positive relationships with preschoolers, encouraging socialization and cooperative play.
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with diverse needs.
- Assist in facilitating group activities and discussions to promote communication and teamwork.
- Curriculum Support:
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in implementing the preschool curriculum.
- Assist in preparing materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Support the integration of play-based learning strategies to enhance the educational experience.
- Behavior Management:
- Assist in maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
- Implement behavior management techniques under the guidance of the lead teacher.
- Communicate effectively with children to resolve conflicts and address behavioral concerns.
- Health and Safety:
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist in implementing health and safety protocols, including hygiene routines and emergency procedures.
- Promptly communicate any health-related issues to the lead teacher or appropriate staff.
- Parent Communication:
- Maintain open and positive communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities and progress.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other events as needed.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to continuously improve teaching practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for young children. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of curriculum activities, providing support to children, and ensuring the overall well-being and safety of the preschoolers.
